"Hi everyone,We are facing the same issue. During winding, one pass just skips its position and in the next pass, the band just winds on the same location and than pattern follows the perfect pattern like nothing happened. This is usually during…"

Alexander Solis replied to Conor O'Donnell's discussion G-Code Customization: Acceleration
"The hackers statement only implies that you are able to modify the gcode and nothing more. In the latest version of the software there is an accerlation parameter for the carriage. I pointed this out to turner hunt awhile back ago as to reduce the…"

Alexander Solis replied to Camille Baudichon's discussion Error type Mismatch 13 and wrong directions
    "Hi Camille,
This is very unusual, the latest software is supposed to help with the latest winding parameters. Were you able to fix the problem? The only advise I can consult is to uninstall the software and re-install it. Hopefully this has been…"

"I checked out that sigrapreg and it looks great. Love the varying cure temps. Doesn't say too much info on all resin types they have available.
How much did you pay for the 6kg spool? 6kg is not a bad minumum order depending on the price of course.…"

Alexander Solis replied to Curtis Kent Capdeville's discussion Wrapping Composite with Shrink Tape
    "Hi Curtis Kent,
If I am not mistaken, you have heat shrink tape from dunstone. Depending on the film thickness you can only overlap the tape half it's width. For expamle if you have a 1" wide shrink tape and it's thickness is 0.002" or more, I would…"

Alexander Solis commented on Jean Girardot's blog post Carbon tow size
"I have done some tests on 24K. The concave roller delivery head on the four axis allows for such a wider tow to be used. As for 50K, I'd dare not go that far."

Alexander Solis commented on Jean Girardot's blog post Carbon tow size
"First off you can no longer wind in 3 axis mode, which I am going to beg turner hunt to bring it back. You will have to modify the four axis delivery head to have additional rollers to prevent fiber slippage.
Since you have the four axis you can…"

    "Hi Alexander,
Thanks for your feedback, I would be happy to have a look to your g-code and try it. I usually work with a 3,268 inches diameter (I can go up to 8 inches) and a 8 inches length."

    "Hi Maxime Fournier,
I did try the wind with an old Computer. It is a dell optiplex 745 with a dual core processor and only 2GB of RAM. It has windows 7 ultimate. I still ended up with displacement.
I went to device manager and turned off the power…"

Maxime Fournier replied to Alexander Solis's discussion Filament Skipping
    "Alexander,
The problem may be due to a delay accumulated from the computer through USB connections, hubs and boards to each motor.
As each board gives the signal to one motor, if the delay is diferent from one to another, then this could explain…"

    Filament Displacement Probably Fixed
Hello to all X-Winder user, I wanted to share my g-code file that I hand edited myself in order to see if removing some commands would fix my filament displacement issues. To make a long story short I basically removed the M602 and G4 L602 CXX…

Alexander Solis replied to Miloš Marec's discussion Hand editing of G-Code
    "Milos Marec,
I got home and I checked the files. The file that is saved with a .X2G extension is the gcode file and the .X2D is the design file. The .X2G is the file you can edit in NotePad and should save as .X2G format."

Alexander Solis replied to Miloš Marec's discussion Hand editing of G-Code
    "Hi Milos Marec,
Is the .x2d file type in the XW_GCODE folder? If it is not there then that is the designer file. There should be two files that are saved by the designer. One is a designer file and the other is the g-code file that can be edited in…"
